Rebar (CAD) Detailer

Stantru Reinforcing Steel is currently seeking an experienced Rebar Detailer at our Fontana, California facility, to prepare high quality, accurate, reinforcing steel placement drawings through the interpretation of engineering plans and specifications. Drawings will need to follow industry and company standards to provide the necessary information for productive fabrication.

Functions & Responsibilities

• Independently create detailed, accurate, placing drawings and bar list to facilitate field placement, and job schedule using CAD programs
• Verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda, and other contractual information from the routing report or directly from the business system and/or contractor
• Work with job site and shop personnel to determine requirements for both detailing and delivery of material
• Identify and develop information required to inform the customer of any changes to the contract
• Communicate with Ironworkers, customers and A/E on all questions relating to projects, including writing of RFI’s
• Enter all orders into business system and prepare reports to assist in management of projects
• Enter all drawings for submission into drawing tracking system
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned

Required Experience

• Knowledge and 2 years of experience in general construction
• Ability to read and comprehend construction specifications and drawings
• 2 years of CAD drafting experience
• Strong communication skills – verbal and written
• Excellent customer service
• Time management
• Planning/organization
• MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Soule, RebarCAD, aSa
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of rebar industry and rebar detailing

Estimator

Stantru Reinforcing Steel is currently seeking an Estimator at our Fontan CA team.  This role includes a review of construction documents (blueprints and specifications), and calculating Labor and Material costs to develop an estimate and bid proposal. A percentage of time for this role will require communication with the customer & subcontractors in relation to the projects bidding.

Functions & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Bid Process and Coordinating with Responsible Salesman.
• Reviews Construction Bid Documents and Specifications
• Gathers Information about Competition and Schedule.
• Contacts and Scopes Subs/Vendors.
• Prepares and sends Preliminary Scope Letters.
• Completes Estimate Summary sheet.
• Prepares required bid forms/documents.
• Meets Bid Schedules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience reading blueprints
• Basic math skills and technical writing skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work well with a team and independently
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Planning / organization
• MS Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, Soule
• Time management
• Dependable

Preferred Experience

• Two (2) years of rebar sales and estimating / placing experience
• Experience in either or all of drafting / estimating / sales of fabricated rebar
• Knowledge and experience using design/detailing/ software

Education Requirements
